What kind of solvent can I use to un-glue a cup and saucer?

This antique piece was glued to another plate and put on a stake😨! I’d like to try to rescue it! Please help! I do not know the kind of glue used but it is clear! Thank you

sometimes people do this to make a bird feeder so there could be a hole drilled in either one of them but here is some info - also I am not sure the cup and saucer would be useable to drink out of if it has been glued then a solvent used

Thank you, I’ve tried using a hair dryer, didn’t work. I’ll try submerging in hot water. Next I’ll try the acetone!

Pour in the saucer enough mineral spirits, to barley cover glue an let set to soften,
get the low odor type as it softens use a thin 'icing' knife wiggle between the two
slowly to separate them, take your time the spirits do a good job most of the time.
