How do you fix a door jam without replacing the door

when we bought our house, we noticed the door coming from the garage was kinda warped, but didn't pay much attention until this year. After looking closely at it, we realized it's been "kicked in" probably several times. The plate where the door latches won't stay tight. I have 4" screws in it but it still comes loose. How can we fix the door without replacing the door and frame

Take one screw out at a time, tap 3 or 4 matches or toothpicks into the hole try to get them in all the way. If there is Match or tooth pick still protruding snap it of level. Then replace the screw it should be a great deal tighter. Do this to all 4 screws. An extra measure can be used if you have any wood glue or craft glue dip the Match or Tooth pick into that before tapping it into the hole. Hope this helps.
