How can I make use of those 'little' left over soaps?
There always seems to be that piece that is too small for actually washing one's hands but I wonder if they can be combined with others to make 1 reusable piece. I've read they can be placed in the garden somehow as well to deter animals? Thanks.

Put them in a glass jar with water. It helps to sliver the soap. After your slivers melt use it as hand soap. Or you can make a small netting bag --put slivers in the bag then use it to bathe with.
I make an "envelope" from a washcloth either by sewing or using fabric glue and Velcro. Toss in the bits and you have a self soaping washcloth.
Collect them for a while to get a good amount then. shred them Sprinkle them around your outdoor plants to deter deer and other pests.
These soap nets are wonderful and not too expensive. Use them for a whole bar of soap and it helps exfoliate while you bathe.
