Hi Linda. Are you asking what to do with this post that you rescued?

Cut it down, fix the base.... add knobs, hooks and make it a jewelry stand... or cups in the kitchen.... Or..... add a top.....(using an old pie plate or something like it) for a candlestick, plate stand... prep it for outside and make it a bird bath or feeder by adding to the top.... Leave it and make it a scarecrow, snowman, santa or the like for holiday decor.... fix the base and use it for a wreath hanger on the porch.... turn it sideways and add hooks for a coat rack....

Something like this would be a great way to use it: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/292804413245568046/

You can also cut it in half vertically, obtaining 2 decorative pieces with flat sides and use anywhere you want a little extra trim!
