What are the best screws for a wine barrel?

I'm making a wine barrel sink I'm going to cut it so it fits flush against the wall and need to screw the bands before I cut. I bought #10 1" self threading bolt head screws. Will these work? Want to make sure before I start drilling for the screws

The screws need to be long enough to go through your material and into the studs in the wall if being supported on the wall.

I need them to go through and secure the metal bands to keep them from snapping when cut. A 1/2" piece of plywood will cover the back down to the baseboard with cut out for plumbing. I'm also going to cut out a door on the front side for access

No they won't. Self tapping screws are made to go through metal without drilling and grip metal. The thread pattern is too fine to grip to wood. What you need are pan head wood screws. Thread is coarse to dig and grip the wood. Predrill the metal bands for the screws. Really love your idea. Super creative. please post your project here when you do it.
