I had an old floor lamp which was really sturdy - but tarnished beyond what I could stand anymore. I rubbed it down with liquid sandpaper and spray painted it a metallic close to the original. It turned out great. -

If you DONT want to use it as a lamp anymore..turn it into a birdbath! -

Spray paint it then add a new lamp shade and hang a tassel📌🎄
