Can you take apart a traverse rod and use curtains with grommets?

want to update and get rid of old fashioned traverse action but would like to use just the rod with tabs or grommets.

There are many different styles and shapes of traverse rods, mounting styles, centre supports and corner brackets.
Is it possible to post a picture of your rod and hardware? That way we could see exactly what you have to work with, and would then be able to give a more definitive answer to your question.
