Help please--mini blinds replacement parts.

We have 17 sets of mini blinds, 1" aluminum. The blinds themselves are still in great shape, but after twenty years, the plastic end caps on the bottom rails are literally falling to pieces. We have found a source (after exhaustive search) for a replacement but at $1 each or more plus a minimum of $12 shipping (no kidding--for 34 little one inch pieces of plastic!). So the minimum cost to replace these caps would be $46. So I am wondering...have any of you any suggestions as to what we might do instead of purchasing more plastic that will inevitably fail? I glued a little piece of felt to one blind and it works ok--not pretty but at least it keeps the metal end from marking up the white window surround. Any one have other ideas? Would sure appreciate your ideas/experience with this issue. Thank you.

Here's a link where you order 34 mini blind ends (for quantities of more than 25 they are

$0.69 each. It is the S & H that is the deterrent. For about $38 you can have all new replacements, a bit cheaper than your $46.

An idea that comes to mind is to put a thin strip of removable wallpaper or removable contact paper to the inside of the window where the blinds meet the frame.

Those are the ones I need and may end up purchasing there. Thank you.

Yes, we were mightily surprised not to find them through Amazon and tried every possible description/name we could think of. Thank you for your efforts on our behalf.

I am dealing with same issues on my faux wood blinds that the plastic pieces are drying out and breaking off- the replacement pieces are not cheap- so we took down some of them and put up curtains instead - here is info to help you

the replacement parts are cheaper than replacing the blinds you could use felt (you may be able to find it in white) or a white fabric that would protect your windows

Thanks, Cheryl. Last night I actually dreamed of cutting up a plastic milk carton into the shape I need to cover the metal ends. I'll try today. Good luck with your issues, too.

Hello. You might consider looking at thrift stores?

It may be time consuming, but you could widdle small pieces of wood to fit. perhaps fill the end with silicon and wipe off smooth.....

You could go to the dollar store and get white tape they have it on the roll it sticks great cut it to fit on the end it will pad it add cover the end you don’t need the plastic piece the tape is pretty strong it’s like 3 inches wide so you could cut it wrap a little over the edge to cover the sharp part and that will work

Have seen that tape but never occurred to me it might work for this. Thank you!
