How can I add interest to the outside of my windows?
I have a single story, brick home. I have solar screens that help with the Texas heat, but it makes it look like big, blank, brown holes, across the front of my house. I want to add some architectural interest, but I don't think I want shutters. I am considering adding dentil molding, just under the eves of the house. I just don't know what to do with the windows. Any suggestions?

I do not have shutters, and I don't think that is what I want. The solar screens are brown, so the glass does not show through. The window cling would be pretty from the inside (I have that in my bathroom), but it would not be seen from the outside. My windows go too low, to have window boxes.
Decorative window boxes would be pretty... you could plant hardy heat-loving plants in them.

Thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunately, the window box idea won't work. My bottom of my windows are only about a foot and a half from the bottom of the house. What do you think about adding wood trim around the outside of the windows and lining the inside of the window frame. Right now, it's just brick. I also thought about getting new solar screens with "panes". I'm about to get a new roof. It will be a weathered wood grey color with touched of brown. I plan to paint the eves of the house a dove grey and trim with a crisp white. There is not much wood anywhere on my house. I think the exterior of my house is boring. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that I want to add dentil molding under the eves. That will be white too.
