I need window treatments- any ideas for adding style?

I have white wooden blinds all over the house. I like the clean look and don't want curtains or anything heavy. Any ideas for adding style and color without heavy fabrics?

buy or make tailored valances, perhaps with a pleat or two, or braid trim. Mount high over the windows so light will not be blocked, but the valance will soften the shutters.
How about those valances made by just draping a scarf or length of fabric betwen two hooks or over a rod...the type of treatment you see in the home decorating magazines?

Hello- I feel the same way about my window in my breakfast area. What I have done is a tree branch At about the same height as a valance.I decorated it a Christmas with vintage Christmas ornaments& pine cones strung singly on sheer ribbon. For summer wicker balls painted green.
Valance and bishop sleeves. Clean look, very in.
