Cut giftwrap to fit the window area on your door. Tape it inconspicuously to the inside of your door, pretty inside and probably white when looking from the outside. OR, get pretty paper that has patterns on both sides and do the same. OR get a large piece of artwork that will cover the entire window inside, OR add a very large decorative item outside that will block the light. Make it look intentional and it will become a plus to your curb appeal. Someone posted where they'd created large wall outdoor wall art by stapling a shower curtain with a large poppy design onto a frame. That would be another idea, too. Just have fun with these ideas and think outside the box!

A proven way to do blackout without a curtain rod is to use black fabric cut to thewindow size. Put up Velcro dots on the window frame, placed strategically to match Velcro on the fabric. You can actually make fabric to look like Roman shades. Looks great, no screws or hardware and easy to wash.
There is a paint that you can get at craft stores that will fake frost the glass or you can also get glass paint there in the colors of your choice
