How can I decorate my window using traverse rods but no curtains?
I don`t want curtains again. I have cats that love to sit in the window and cleaning their hair from the curtains was a nightmare. I want to add some color with a valence of some kind but wanted to use the existing rods.

Make a Patterns of a Curtain Valance or Whatever Else Your Heart Wants
You could make/buy a valance panel the fits the width of the curtain rod--sides too--and then attach velcro to the front and sides of the traverse rod and the fabric. The valance with be a straight run of fabric with no gathers in it but it will cover the rod, hide the traverse hooks, and look pretty!
I saw a custom drapery lady just cover a 4" PVC pipe with generous amounts of very pretty fabric to use as a valance. Sounds funky but it was really pretty.
You could mount the pipe on a free turning wheel so IF the kitties jumped on it, it would just roll around. No cat climbing.
Thank you! Never thought of that. I appreciate your help.
Hi! Over the years I have draped fabric from almost anything I liked, over curtain rods. Vintage table linens, especially tablecloths give you all kinds of looks. The nice thing about sheets, long tablecloths, and even cloth shower curtains is you get lots of fabric to work with, and a finished edge/hem. Too much fabric? Cut it into long sections. I've even used cute kitchen towels for cafe style window valance in my kitchen. I don't always hem the fabric, and have occasionally pinned them in place. It depends on the look, color(s) and design you want. Look around your house and see what inspires you! Stay safe!
