Aqua Teal family. Too much beige going on. I would paint the walls a light aqua and use a deeper shade in the drapes, preferably a print with white. Rust colored pillows and accents are the perfect opposite for aqua . a medium size contemporary chandelier would look awesome on the ceiling.

Assuming the wall color is staying, I would pull a color out of the pictures for the window covering to compliment but not darken your room.

Either the burnt orange or the teal blue from the pictures would be great! I prefer happy , warm colors , so I would choose the burnt orange. Something with texture to them would make them interesting and not boring.

Orange to brighten up the room because of the beige walls. Will tie together with the painting and the president knows on the bed.

Pick any color from the painting as you did with the pillows.

Pick out one of the lighter blue tones for drapes, add a couple pillows the same color and paint the wall behind the bed with the lighter blue.

See above link. . Or pull in the color in the painting which is complementary to the orange tones. see below link. http://ak1.ostkcdn.com/images/products/8274248/EFF-Seville-Print-Blackout-Curtain-Panel-c43e2cd2-4fa2-486e-9860-dbc0eeb05a95_600.jpg

I'd also paint the room a lighter color to bring in more light such as Country White or Sundrenched Sand. A true white linen drape would look elegant, keeping the room airy and bright. Your room, your rules. Best of luck.

I like the drapes you have - just change the wall color.

Teal would brighten the room and play off the colors in your artwork.

I would paint the room a lighter tone and get rid of the rug. MAkes the room feel heavy. also some stain steel curtain rods will modernize it.

Love the dark teal blue in your art work...I would go with that color.

  • Donna Donna on Jul 18, 2016
I'd go with the blue that's in the paintings. I'd also add a throw pillow and maybe a vase in the same color.

I like the other suggestions of teal. Consider moving the rod higher so that the drapes are about 1/4" - 1/2" from the floor.

I love to put color on my walls... but I have white curtains in all my rooms. Especially when the trim is white. You can grab colors from the art for pillows and accessories. The suggestions of moving the rods closer to the ceiling is a good one,,,costs nothing and adds so much to the look.

I suggest raising curtain rid almost to the ceiling and use tael blue. Pull color from the painting. Hope you like my suggestions.

I would paint the walls a soft grey or greige, put a large rug (6X9 or 8X10) under the bed, remove one of those heavy dressers, then hang new drapes a couple inches from the ceiling to the floor, in a color that compliments the new rug. I would also get a prettier bedspread or duvet.

I'm all about color, so I'd take my time & try to find softer fabric-sheers?-in a pattern that incorporates the colors you already have in the room. With all the same shades, you need something that's going to bring a bit of life to the room...And using a lite weight fabric won't weigh the room down

Robin's egg blue taffeta panels with soft gathers

I would buy a colorful comforter then match the curtain to an accent color in the comforter. I use this method when painting a bedroom as well. It is very easy to pick paint colors, rugs, pillows & art to compliment a large comforter.

Find the focal point of your room. I would say the painting. Take a bright color from that painting and match it to your drapes. Try not to use more of the brown or beige colors in your room. By a bright cover for your bed to match the drapes.

I like the orange/ rust color in your pillows and artwork , it would blend well . there is a lot to be said about the power of three when decorating .
