Window boxes without plants.

My two cats regard my kitchen window boxes as their snuggle space. Spent last summer trying to dissuade them, but everyone knows you can't change a cat's mind. Would like some ideas as to how to make said boxes attractive without plants...Thanks!

  • Grow plain old grass in them. Or cat grass if you think they will like it. At least something green for you to look at. 🐈

use pointed twigs, greenery with sharp edges, incorporate citrus scents, sea shells, pointed rocks

Decorate the box and add organics. E.g. glue starfish or florals or painted wood figures from the craft store. Inside place pinecones, twigs of berry bushes ( e.g. bittersweet, holly) or other natural elements that have a no-mainenance shelf life. Good luck!

The cats probably would not like to snuggle with objects that are not comfortable to lay down in, You could put a theme in there, like a farm scene with buildings...barn, cattle, tractor...or make it into any theme you might have going on.
