Anne fenske on Sep 26, 2015I think this is an Ameranthus (love lies bleeding ) the standard ameranthus flower points grow upwards, while Love lies bleeding droop. It grows well in Manitoba,Canada. The leaves take on the wine color as it matures.Helpful Reply

Mimi Haywood on Sep 26, 2015Amaranth, this variety is pretty, we have a variety of it tha grows wild in NM called careless weed and it is a farmer or gardeners worst nightmare. It spreads very fast. The Careless Weed is not a pretty plant either.Helpful Reply

Mychelle primeau on Sep 26, 2015It is called "love lies bleeding" it is an annual but it will self seed. Each one of these long red stems have thousands of seeds on them. The legal name is Amaranth but I never heard that word much. I have tons of them. They are beautiful,Helpful Reply
