Janet Pizaro on Oct 20, 2015I personally think the bleach will destroy the fabric. Try dying them a color instead.Helpful Reply

Pat on Oct 20, 2015Rit Dye makes a product called "color remover," and I would make a strong solution of this and see if you can simply remove the color. Bleach would only work if it was a very weak solution; otherwise I agree that bleach would destroy the sheers, and fabrics made of nylon, rayon, etc (which I suspect your sheers might be) will NOT take dye. The fabric simply won't absorb the color, plus if you use the very hot water recommended for dye, the sheers might be damaged.Helpful Reply

Z on Oct 21, 2015It truly depends on the fiber content of the fabric. Synthetics typically don't dye or bleach well, though Rit has developed a new dye for synthetics called DyeMore, that might be worth looking into. I have not used it myself so I'm not able recommend using it, but thought it worth mentioning. https://www.ritstudio.com/2015/04/15/announcing-rit-dyemore-rits-new-polyester-dye/Helpful Reply

Holly on Oct 25, 2015Peroxide will work and save them from yellowing, as the bleach would do if they have synthetic fibers/fabric. One cup Peroxide; One quart water to soak. Best luck.Helpful Reply

Becky Greenwald on Oct 26, 2015Save for what you want. I tried bleaching kitchen hand towels (yellow cotton) and ended up with holes and blotches. Nice scrub rags now.Helpful Reply
