Best Soil for Raised Vegetable Beds

I'm looking for advice on what would be the best soil to use in raised vegetable garden beds. I can buy it or mix it myself but I'd prefer to buy it. I used "garden soil" mixed with bagged manure last year but the garden turned out so, so. Any advice would be great.

Renee, I would aim for a mix that is about one-third native soil, one-third purchased topsoil and one-third compost.

I am a firm believer in Worm Castings for raised beds. Worm poop is one of the greatest gifts you can give any planting! Here is a pretty good explanation why that is. http://www.thewormdude.com/tag/worm-castings/

Thanks Douglas! Appreciate it. I think that'll be my "recipe". I don't have enough homemade compost so I'll have to buy some any recommendations?
