Garden Edger
-
Douglas Hunt on Jan 13, 2012Marvin, if you've ever cut with a good pair of loppers versus a cheap pair, you'll know why I say tools are one area where I don't think gardeners should scrimp. So if I were looking for an edger, I'd check out Craigslist or eBay, and try to find a good quality used one, rather than an inexpensive new one.Helpful Reply

MAXINE F on Jan 13, 2012Great advise. You are olnly as good as your tools. Gardening tools need to be top notch. I have gotten most of mine used. I find the older tools are great quality, and much more reasonable than new. Check out flea markets, and garage sales. In my area, North East, tools are not hard to find. Even if they need some repairs--- new handles, screws, etc. as long as the main parts are great. Happy hunting. Have Fun!Helpful Reply

MAXINE F on Jan 13, 2012Marvin forgot to add to my post that an electric knife really works well for edging. Picked up a few at garage sales. Just insert the knife, start it, and follow the sidewalk. Also great for cutting down hastas, grasses, and other garden foliage at the end of the season.Helpful Reply

Christina Dorrego on May 30, 2015everyone tells me edgers don't work well. And the quality of a tool does make a difference, but i'd pass on the spur looking edgers, major fail.Helpful Reply
