Whirlpool tub with spider cracks and chip - how do I fix this?

We have a fiberglass 2 person corner whirlpool/jacuzzi tub that someone sat on before it was installed. The result was a spider crack and somehow a small chip. Can I use the fiberglass repair kits you can get at the home centers and wet sand?

This exact question came up a couple of days ago, and there were a few valuable responses. Basically, consensus was that you need to find a good pro to help with this.

As Steve stated. We just had this same question. In a nut shell no to answer your question. If the tub is fairly new contact the manufacture for repair kits if they provide them. If not your best bet is to contact a pool company that fixes outdoor tubs and that uses gel coatings and understands how to apply them so they match and look good. This is not a normal DIY project.
