Clay B on Jan 30, 2012YOu could try PC-7 epoxy/putty. put a layer between, but it also needs to be feathered on the outside. when dry, paint it. I forget they different types but I think PC-11 is white (pc7 is dark brown). Also, be fure you use any adhisive, make sure you make a jig/clamp system to hold it in place while it dries, before you apply any glue.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Jan 31, 2012Devcon 2 ton epoxy would be my first choice...it will penetrate into the concrete more than a putty.Helpful Reply

Ricardo B on Jan 31, 2012Make sure everything is NOT wet or even moist before you begin tackling your repair! Here's something to do. Please don't laugh at me until you try it... Select a real good brand of Bondo. Yeah, that stuff that's been used by the industry and by DIY guys to repair auto body damage. Or... you can go to your favorite big box store and get any epoxy glue that requires mixing the epoxy and the activator together, then apply. Be careful... it can be messy. Patience and steady hands regardless of which way you go...Helpful Reply

Donna McCrummen on Jan 31, 2012I agree with Ricardo - be sure it's dry whatever you do. After you finish, give it a good coat of chalk paint. Try Annie Sloan's chalk paint. It is great for outdoor projects.Helpful Reply

Sherrie S on Feb 01, 2012This time it must be done right & I have plenty of information to do it. I've already studied Pc7-Pc11-PC concrete, etc. Next will be Devcon 2 ton epoxy. Donna, you noticed the mess we made. I will check out chalk paint, too. Ricardo, I can't laugh at any suggestion. I will check out Bondo, too. Thank you all very much.Helpful Reply

Sherrie S on Feb 09, 2012Shabby Daze - I've picked my product to fix the statue. You mentioned Annie Sloan for finishing but I saw nothing about using her product for concrete (the heron is concrete).Helpful Reply

Touchedpainter on Sep 11, 2016I don't know what that gunk is on there. It needs to come off. My concrete statue broke at the narrowest part. A little girl holding her dress/apron open sideways & her skinny legs broke off. So those legs are holding up a lot of weight. We glued the legs on with industrial epoxy. We first had a sand pile to nestle the 1-1/2" statue in alignment until the glue hardened. Then we took repair concrete mixed just a little to sculpt the missing concrete around the break edge. Absolutely can't tell it has ever been repaired. Still raw concrete & don't intend to ever paint.Helpful Reply
