Brett Lipton on Feb 22, 2016You can cover it with brick pavers, so it looks like brick and you can preserve the look of the appearance of it being a chimney.Helpful Reply

Style-Sack on Feb 22, 2016Perhaps post a pic of what you mean? hard to 'imagine the size etc etc..... but I would most likely make it look like it was a cupboard liek the rest of the kitchen.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Feb 23, 2016I agree post a picture it old be easier. But I will say something if this is a old chimney we took 2 down at my father's house when we replaced his roof. He had a house built in 1900. When I tore off the chimneys all I had to do was grab the brick and throw them off. There wasn't any mortar it has went to dust. Which would have made this dangerous had one of the brick started shifting. Both came down with nothing more than me grabbing them and throwing them off. I don't know how old your house or this chimney is but you need to. Consider that.Helpful Reply

Johnchip on Feb 23, 2016Depending on the style of the new kitchen, the easiest and most versatile decorator options way would be stucco it. (You could actually simply use a compound skim coat)2 marked as helpful Reply
