Kathy Jackson on Feb 23, 2016Yes, I crush the egg shells and lay around plants. It helps keep the snails out. Bananas I put them in the blender and pour them around my rose bed. coffee I sprinkle all over.Helpful Reply

Colleen Walpert on Feb 23, 2016Mine too. Bananas are especially beneficial to roses. Coffee grounds help with acid loving plants like azaleas and egg shells add calcium to the soil. Sometimes I throw everything in the blender (even the coffee filters), add a bit of water and blend away. Then, to keep the critters away, I bury the whole mess in the garden.Helpful Reply

Cathy on Feb 23, 2016Yes, they all are--bananas are especially good for roses, egg shells are good to put in the ground under your tomato plants, and know coffee grounds are okay, too. All of these things can also be put in a compost pile, too. Just make sure to wash out the eggshells.Helpful Reply

C.L. Fornari's book Coffee For Roses book is an excellent source for garden myths real information.Helpful Reply
