Outdoor Chandelier

LandlightS on May 05, 2013A lot depends on the outdoor location....is the outdoor surface a solid surface or is it under a deck where the water can drip through the deck board. It if a solid surface, you can install any type fixture....I would look for a wrought iron fixture or solid brass as both will hold up to the elements(brass plated will eventually begin to rust. I'm sure you can find many fixtures on line. Good lighting, GaryHelpful Reply

Linda on May 05, 2013I saw a patio fixture made from an old canning wire rack out of a water bath canner, filled with vintage jars with lights run through them, it was very cool but it would depend on how much light you want from your fixture.Helpful Reply

Crafty Texas Girls on May 07, 2013That sounds right up my alley-- I think my husband would like it too! We do need a good amount of light, maybe we could modify it. Thanks Linda!Helpful Reply

Em Hooper on May 17, 2013I googled 'rusting chandelier' and came up with a whole lot of sources where you might find one that suits both of you. Ask an electrician about damp-proofing the one you like. Or go to http://inmyownstyle.com/2010/11/dining-room-chandelier-make-over.html to see how to age your own. I'm using the Modern Masters verdigris paint process to age my brass-look, now copper, chandy. It was $25 from ReStore. A bit more than that to turn it verdigris copper.Helpful Reply
