How to build a fence on a downhill slope
-
KMS Woodworks on May 31, 2013Most fences I have seen on slopes ( and we have our share here in the rockies) are set with posts about 6 feet apart. the horizontal rails are then set following the contour of the slope. These are typically three tiered. The fence pickets then follow the contour as well. You could set the fence up with a "stair like" pattern with the rails set level rather than following the contour. but 8 feet between posts seems a bit wide to me. What is the overall slope of the hill?...If this is a low slope this might look OK.Helpful Reply
