Kimberly Barney on Jul 10, 2013Purchase inexpensive canvas and let them make their own artwork which could be made from all kinds of items (i.e. buttons, washers, felt pieces, magazines). Have them decorate tin cans of various sizes to be later strung together for a wind chime. Purchase caps or t-shirts for them to customize. Make button worms with a ribbon with a button sewn on each end that can be turned to hold the felt squares onto the ribbon once strung through the hole cut in each square. I hope that this helps.Helpful Reply

Z on Jul 11, 2013I have quite a few on my Hearts and Crafts Pinterest board. Not all, but many are child friendly since I do crafts with our five year old grandson. He's been crafting since he was one so many would also work for 8 and 10 year olds. One of my favorites in using semi clear colored plastic cups (#6 recyclable) for colored sun catchers. There's also a couple different doughs to make and if you have girls they might like to redo a pair of cheap thongs (you probably call them flip flops, but I'm old and they'll always be thongs to me) with strips of fabric. If they like to draw, then you'll find some ideas on my Drawing Pictures board. http://pinterest.com/becky_conrad/hearts-and-crafts/ http://pinterest.com/becky_conrad/drawing-pictures/Helpful Reply

Michela Shoemaker on Jul 12, 2013One I used to use when I taught kids crafts was, take a paisley print bandanna and fabric markers. You wouldn't think so but this was one of their favorite things to do at the end of class while others were finishing their project for the day.Helpful Reply
