I have a similar area in my yard. We have a willow tree there, but they require a lot of room. We also have joe pye weed, swamp milkweed, cat tails, big blue stem grass, spiderwort, ferns, wild ginger, aster, cardinal flower, hardy ageratum, hardy hibiscus, native iris, black eyed susan....lots of choices. Make sure you get rid of any weeds and grass that are currently growing there and add compost to improve the soil. good luck and have fun!

The green succulent looks like a small thick green vine but only sorta of vineish and it produces small yellow flowers at different times. Any Ideas? Suggestions.
