What is this???
My friend dropped this plant off. 4x4 foot in a 24" diameter pot. Most of the "greenery" looks like an orchid root explosion. Very few of these long tendrils have leaves. The ones that do remind me of a bougainvillea limb. I am clueless.

Irene G on Jul 23, 2013Just a guess- could it be a Fire Stick Plant? It's hard to tell from the photo. Looks a bit like it. They grow to about that size. The sap from that plant can be very toxic. Link- http://doleaf.com/listings/1043-pencil-fire-stick-euphorbia-tirucalli-roseaHelpful Reply

Carole Andersen on Jul 24, 2013Ok, I looked up the Fire Stick Plant (pencil cactus) and the scotch broom. The crooked stems and tons of nodes up the stems plus the size of the leaves are not matching up so far. Honestly it looks like a orchid on steroids. HA Going to post a more close up picture of the stems and leaves. Thankful for all your help on this one so I can keep having leads on the research!Helpful Reply
