Removing corn cob hair
-
Catherine Smith on Sep 04, 2013Use an old, clean toothbrush or nail brush under running water to remove the silk. You should get most of it when you shuck the cob, but this will remove almost all the fine silk that sometimes gets caught between the rows of corn and in your teeth. LOL I have to be nosey and ask why you are canning corn? You can get a fresher tasting product both in ears and cut off corn kernels by freezing. It's a lot less labor intensive.Helpful Reply

Lorna Maedke on Sep 04, 2013Thank you. I used a micro rag, and it worked pretty good, but I will try the toothbrush next batch.Helpful Reply
