That depends on how much light your new home has.Do you only want small plants to hang or different varieties?
gday , here in Australia we commonly use any type of succulents, no fuss lil water , but then if you wish for air purifiers such as ferns or spider plants, then you can go up to. Bigger things like palms , umbrella trees even rubber plants ,gee the choice is endless now days . But I would in an apartment have a lil row of herbs in the kitchen even just on the bench in a long planter with water catchment tray , living room some succulants and a feature pot like a palm. Good luck and enjoy xo
Try Air Plants. They require little light and water.
I love the idea of bringing some greenery inside - and those projects you posted are so cute!
Have you thought about growing herbs indoors? Herbs like oregano, rosemary, and lavender are great options for both form and function.
You could also buy some vintage teacups and grow a teacup garden:
My fav's are wandering jews, philodendrons' and coleus. They are easy, pretty and grow fast.
My favorite indoor plant is mother-in-law tongue. A plant with lots of character and I is good for the "clean air" effect. You can buy them at Home Depot or Lowes garden center for less than $20. Get a pretty pot to set it in and you're good to go. Oh yes, they thrive on neglect😊 I water mine about once a month. Enjoy! Lois
Your lighting will make or break your plants. The tiny succulents in your pictures will out grow those itty bitty containers quickly. The saucer on top of the glass container is silly it will cut down on the light and the plants won't do well. The grayish succulent to the right is already outgrowing the glass and getting leggy due to lack of light. Okay I hate to be a naysayer but it irks me when I see designs that really won't work sold. Some big box stores sell plants that are not suitable for your growing zone in their out door stalls. That said there are various plants suitable for almost any home situation. Peace lily or Spathiphyllum is great. Does well in low light and survives some neglect just don't let it dry out completely. Jade plants, a type of succulent handle abuse very well. I have a plant we called Swedish ivy (Plectranthus verticillatus) that over winters in the house just fine with very poor light.
Thanks for all of the great ideas, I will let you know what I pick up! I can't wait to get to the nursery!
philodendron, mother in laws tongue would be good. Low maintenance too
