Up light solution

Z on Dec 09, 2013That's pretty Mary. You can buy what's called up lighting. It's basically a little can with a light socket that plugs into the wall. For this you might want to look for one that runs on batteries. Maybe something like this from HoDe: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Amerelle-Light-n-Up-Stick-On-Lights-Includes-Batteries-75201/100645886#.UqYlJ-I_BtQHelpful Reply

LandlightS on Dec 09, 2013Mary...from the photo, it seems to that the stand is about 10 -12 inches in diameter. I suggest you visit a local lighting store (not a big box) in Nashville that repairs lamps. You can find a pre-finished wooden base (some very decorative) that you can mount a miniature can light with a candelabra socket fitted with a low wattage LED candelabra bulb to the center of the wooden base and place it under the crystal globe. Or, try one of the Low Volt fixtures, only replace the lamp with a 3 Watt LED MR16 lamp...not as bright as the MR16 hlolgen lamp includes and 100% cooler to the touch. http://www.lampsplus.com/products/floor-or-table-mount-mini-accent-uplight__78751.html Good lighting, GaryHelpful Reply

Connie on Dec 10, 2013I like the battery operated candle or tea light idea. This way you can turn the lights on it and off as needed and move the item around where you want it without a messy cordHelpful Reply

Amy Flores on Dec 11, 2013I googled other globes and probably your best bet is to place a bulb in the pedestal directly below it. Try either a light kit (recess); LED push light; or maybe a LED candle. You could even do multi-colored lights. http://artdonovan.typepad.comHelpful Reply
