I'd go with the roman shades! I think they are perfect for bay windows.
Bay windows are not all the same. Can you post a picture and tell us what look you are trying to achieve? They can be challenging I know.
You can get drapery rods or tracks for bay windows you could hang sheers to filter the sun during the hottest part of the day
If you decide to go with vertical or horizontal blinds, go with a pro who will come to the house. I bought some from a chain, blind store, and I had to stagger the valances, because the employee didn't listen when I told her they were for a bay window...I thought they would mitre the valances... I couldn't return my "custom" blinds.
I googled, "how to decorate a bay window" and there are hundreds and hundreds of pics with great ideas from country to ultra modern.
