Both can be used. I use white vinegar for cleaning and apple cider vinegar for fruit flies.
I agree, you can keep away flies, and clean and disinfect surfaces in your home! Enjoy!
I also use Heinz cleaning vinegar - higher acidity content. Available at some grocery stores and most home improvement stores. Janitorial supply stores also carry stronger strength vinegar.
Why pick one when you can have both?
I keep a bottle of vinegar with dawn to wash counter tops daily, Also use used drier clothes with a bit of white vinegar for cleaning pots and pans.. it literally drops off, rinse and put away... vinegar white again in bathroom, occasionally I use cider vinegar as hair rinse. but usually white for most things..
I use white for cleaning cider for eating. unless a recipe says different.
White is better for all around cleaning. You can also mix with baking soda for hard spots , to clean fridge etc. Cider is the best for cleaning windows and glass; use newspaper and no streaks.
