Cheap way?? How do i get rid of the sulfur smell in my well water??

The kind of odor will determine what kind of filter needs to installed by a licensed technician.
Does it smell egg-y? Its prob sulfar if so- its not dangerous but very unpleasant
There are a few ways to deal with it- cheack it out http://www.atsenvironmental.com/residential/water/contaminants/list/sulfur and good luck!
try a water filter meant for camping -the rv style ones. they hook to a utility type tap and the other end is for a water hose to fill the clear water tank. there is a blue one that costs about $10.00 us. last me 3-4 mo. the iron taste in my water was horrible. not so with the filter. the downer for me....the tap is in the basement. i just fill a few clean used- to -have- distilled -water in them jugs. park them in the fridge, out of sunshine.
Well water stinks because of the natural chemicals in it--First I would get salt into softener system (when our water starts to smell alot our salt is low and needs more added to it. We do not drink the well water or cook with it, we use bottle water for that. Also never water your house plants with the water if you have added salt to the water, you will kill them.
Our entire house is on well water. We started to get a light sulfur smell about a month after we moved in. Our neighbor told us to take about 2 cups of bleach and pour it down the well and let it sit for about a day. The next day, flush it through all your taps, both hot and cold. After a few minutes the bleach smell goes away, and you have clean odorless water again. Usually lasts about two months each time.
It is sulfur in your water, as long as it smells it is good. The smell comes from teeny tiny parts like 5 parts per million of H2s Hydrogen sulfide. It is from the sulfur. Kitchen matches will gives you this same smell. If you have well water and it is not to hard, I would get the filters called "Big Blue" from Iso pure.com These take out so much stuff it is crazy. They come in all sizes but we use the 20" size. Just to keep from changing them weekly. They have a great customer service who can recommend what you need. Also If you do use any filter system, do yourself a favor and install a bypass on it, so you can change them out without a lot of trouble and mess. If your smell is from Iron these will take care of that too
Pour about 1/2 gallon of bleach down your well. Run water in the house until you smell the bleach then turn it off and let it set for a day. Be careful at first when washing clothes, just wash white ones until the bleach calms down. It cleans your toliets really good too. My water does not smelll but I still do this at least once a year.
