I have researched this for many hours. The wording is not recognized by Dutch or German. Does anyone recognize this laungage/painting? It is approximately 100 + years old. Thank ya Hometalk community!

    Possibly Swedish?

Or Norwegian, type it into an online translator, it has something to do with enchanted fairy tales

I'm pretty sure it is Swedish. I believe it means something like "It is the enchanted horse that carries us sometimes". My family is from Norway and I don't speak Swedish, so I would type it into a translator or, even better, ask someone who speaks Swedish. Norwegian is similar, but not the same and sometimes online translators don't give the true meaning. Only a literal translation.

I was going to say Swedish, but somebody beat me to it. I'm guessing this illustration is from a fairy tale that the Grimm brothers may not have known about.

  • Beautiful piece! Might even be worth some money. May be worth the investment to have it appraised. Regardless of what you do, you are lucky to have such a wonderful piece of art!

I don't know how to put the sentence in order but is says, "the fairytale enchanted has carried us annuals sometimes." According to the picture I wondered if annuals meant the flowers. I couldn't dicipher that any further

You are in Young Harris. Have you taken it to one of the art professors at the college there to see what they can tell you?
