Backyard dilemma

My backyard is dark. I only have the 2 lights on the sides of my sliding glass door for lighting. I don't have a deck so I can't hang anything. But there is a fence. I have vinyl siding and I rent the house. What can I do for lighting?

  • You don't say how much you are willing to spend but there is always solar lighting. There are solar string lights. I have an umbrella on my patio with solar lights. At least if you move, you can take it with you

Solar lights are an option available in several ways.Lanterns ,hook them on a shepard hook, solar pathway lights,Umbrella (should you have one)Or use the good old fashioned battery powered lanterns that many use if the power goes out.

I needed some outdoor lighting and replicated an idea I saw on pinterest. Take a large planter-I used a pottery one, fill with sand, take pvc pipe and cut to different lengths, spray paint black, and stick solar lights in the top. I have seven lengths of pvc at different sizes. Looks great!

You can mount solar lights temporarily on the fence but the planter and lights sounds the best

Run some rope lighting on the ground around your concrete slab

You could plant PVC pipe in buckets filled with sand or Plaster of Paris around your yard and string outdoor lights from pipe to pipe. We did this for a wedding.
