Make a paste of baking soda and cover the grout. Mix water and vinegar 50:50 and spray the baking soda paste on the grout. Wait 5 minutes and scrub with stiff brush.
Try the above method to clean it up . Afterwards you may want to go your local Home Depot or Lowe's and look into a sealant . They make them with easy applications now and you won't have to scrub the grout again anytime soon .
Great shares there! The sealant is a good idea because it helps prevent absorption of grease & dyes into the grout...less staining = less work down the road. Make sure you follow directions carefully on the sealant...especially if you use the liquid type which is highly flammable.
I've tried the baking soda recipes but found it always left a film on my tiles that took forever to get off. I just moved recently & the tiles were absolutely filthy & I was able to get them super clean using Oxi Clean powder. Fill a tub with hot water & sprinkle in OxiClean (I didn't measure but was probably 1/4 to 1/2 cup for a standard bucket you'd use to mop floors with). Stir so it dissolves, then pour using a small cup over tiles a few at a time, making sure it covers grout as well. Let sit for a couple minutes then scrub with a stiff brush & use an old towel to mop up water...you'll need a lot of old towels! This method worked amazing for me & everyone was amazed at the difference in my tiles. Good luck!
I used Ebsom salt and water paste, left it on floor for 1 hour, wiped up with bar cloths and then sealed. The salt pulled the stains out and whitened my grout up beautifully!
