Ceiling vent deflecter?

We have a ceiling vent over our bed that blows hot or cold air right over my head. It don't think it helps my achy neck one bit! I need ideas for ways to improve this, We like the furniture as it is. I need to be careful as I have 3 cats, one of when would dismantle anything much hanging down.

I would appreciate any ideas for something that won't be ugly and will do the job!

Thanks!

I have seen plastic deflectors that have magnets in them that fit over the vent, not sure where to buy them. I would contact someone who works/sell air conditioner.

Tried them, don't think they help.

  • Any good hardware store or home improvement stores will have options for you. Take the time to go in and look at the options before purchasing. Unsecrew and take cover with you or measure carefully noting screw placement.

I was hoping for an original idea, but seems I am the only person able to come up with something. So I will get my own idea to work somehow.

What was your original concept? I'm imaginging that you could construct something shaped like an upside down number 7 - even of wood (and you could stain or paint it), and that would keep the air flowing in the other directly, indirectly. I agree with you that this could be a great DIY vs. buying something!
