Cynthia E on Jan 09, 2014Paint (metal, or craft etc and seal), cover w/ birch bark, cork, decoupage. or plaster (painted and sealed) do mosaic work over them. . Then you could use as planters (few holes in bottom for drainage or just to cover stock plant nursery pots, as a floral arrangement vase, in bathroom to hold rolled towels, brushes, sponges, hairstyling tools whatever.Kids rooms to hold art supplies, or small toys, legos etc...You could draw a punched tin design on them, put water in and freeze, then with ice pick or hammer and nail punch out design,(either cut out bottom or punch design there also) after drying faux paint to look like metal put in string battery operated lights or wired in light, hang outside as outdoor lights....the ideas are endless of what finished pieces could beHelpful Reply

Cynthia H on Jan 09, 2014I've done some of the above, but, they are my go to container when I'm painting (larger items like rooms and I've used when painting furniture). That way, I can stop what I'm doing for a break or whatever, snap the lid on, and walk away. A big improvement over open containers I have used (and spilled). I've kept paint in one for several days without a problem, as I've worked on a project. They are pretty useful containers for many other things, plus, if I have too many, our recycling takes them.Helpful Reply

Charlene Myers on Jan 10, 2014I filled them with cement. Cut a hole in the cement for the outdoor table umbrella and kept the colorful plastic on it so it would not mark the deck flooring. I have used them also with cement to make legs for my heavy outdoor pots to raise them from the ground which reduced bugs in my plant. and I have also filled them with cement and stuck a rod through the center to make a tall pedestal.Helpful Reply

Nelda on Jan 10, 2014Drill a few holes in the bottom, paint bright colors & use as planters. I have close to a dozen like this & I'm always getting compliments on them. Of course, plant something that isnt going to grow to large for the pot.Helpful Reply

Olga C on Jan 10, 2014if you are like me and a crafter, you can screw the bottoms of the containers into the wall and make a network of canisters to hold scraps of material, ribbons, sewing accessories, etc and keep adding to the grouping till you have a plastic apothecary area on the wallHelpful Reply
