How to close gaps between pavers to avoid grass and weeds?

I am having a lot of grass and weeds between my pavers as the land has shifted. Would sealing sand solve the problem? Advise. SEBS

Apply vinegar and water a dab of salt and a dab of dish soap to kill the weeds then fill back in with sand.
sprinkling preen will also help to keep the weeds away.
already use polymeric, bonding sand in our large patio. Only keeps for so long. Then you have to do it again. Weeds still come through in spots
