Be sure and treat the wood for any bugs etc that might be hiding or living inside the wood. I have used vinegar to clean off old wood and liked the look of it afterwards.
Thanks Carol. We will definitely look into the treatment and I like the vinegar idea.
Use the newer looking wood for floors or deck.
Bleach will also "age the wood"
I have aged wood using with a home-made stain made by placing fine steel
wool in a jar of vinegar, and letting it sit for a week or so, til it is dissolved into a rusty liquid. shake well and just wipe down the wood you want to age.
