With your orientation whatever goes there is going to require watering because of the amount of sun and the additional heat generated by the stone surface. I'd put pots big saucers that will help to maintain some moisture and look for plants that are specifically designed for your zone and "full sun"
Cynthia is correct with the south exposure and the stone. Shasta daisies would grow well there but I'd move the stones away from the immediate plant.
