I am assuming, since you are planting in the front yard, that you need a smaller tree. I absolutely love the native Fringe trees. They are a SC plant, but seem to do well up north. The fragrance of the flowers, which only last a few weeks, is delightful, not overwhelming. They will grow well in full sun with rich soil, so amend with compost, if necessary.
