Yes! I grow a lot of lettuce and spinach in pots. If you have enough pots, plant in 2 week intervals throughout the growing season. I just use kitchen scissors and cut off what I want to eat and they grow back. I eat a lot of salad, so I still have to buy at the local farmers market. Not enough space! Give it a try, it is fun and you will learn how many pots you will need for a continual supply.

Absolutely! I grow all my lettuce, spinach, kale, chard in our old sap buckets that have sprung leaks. Actually, many vegetable can be grown in containers since they don't have very large root balls. They will dry out quicker and need more frequent watering.
I put several different kinds in a big pot on my apartment patio and it is so attractive as well as the eating of it
