Hole in the wall entrance
Hello, I have this hole in the wall of the main entrance of my house and do not know what I can do?

How about doing a whitewash on the brick? It lightens it yet still retains that old world charm. I actually love your bricked entry! I think it would look awesome whitewashed. Or that german smear look, love that as well!
I agree with Susan S. I would use plaster and smear larger blotches over the brick in places giving it a more plastered look with the brick showing through in places. Giving it that old world look...That will really lighten up the foyer and give it provenance as well. The brick floor keeps it tied together and then add some metal florist canisters full of colorful blooms (faux) and it will become France for sure!
I too say go lighter. But, to break the ceiling and brick colors, perhaps make the molding the color of your floor? Hope that helps.
