    Keep a calendar or notebook when to trim back. Safe after plant blooms or early Spring or Fall if shrub doesn't. Deadhead flowering perennial plants and annuals for more blooms. In time, you will get to know your plants growth habits and their needs. Remember, playing in the dirt can be great therapy!

    Yes, you must wait until the plant or tree stops blooming. Apple trees need to be trimmed around February or March. Cut off all the branches growing straight up to the sky and you will increase your apple crop.

    Get Old Farmers Almanac online. It will give you free reminders for all your planting needs. It gave me a list of when to plant and harvest also when to cut back bushes. ETCETERA. great free site
