moth balls they hate the smell
I had the same problem and put shavings of old Irish soap, they don't like the smell. I have to keep adding after it has gone away but I guess it even helps with snails? Can't remember but it worked for me with cat pooing
Would be expanse to you if u don't already have on hand, but cats don't like to potty where they can't scratch dirt or something to cover it up. Here's a solution that worked for me.
Put down weed block garden cloth, or as in my case, dark 100% polyester double-knit fabric down each side & kap on top center of each row. Anchor to ground with metal tent tent stakes (I found metal worked better than plastic). Cats don't like it, plus it helps prevent weeds between rows & around plants.
Start with the owners, see if they are interested in being responsible pet owners.
I had this problem...dogs love cat poo. I got a cage from Animal Control (free use).
I first one I caught I returned with a warning. The 2nd time I caught it I turned it over to Animal Control....end of problem...good luck!
I am of the opinion that I shouldn't have to change my yard, my lifestyle or put up with nasty cats that carry diseases or their nasty inconsiderate owners. My dogs don't crap and piss in their yard, so their cats shouldn't crap and piss in mine.
I use a BB gun. It doesn't kill them, just let's them know that they are NOT allowed on my property. (It scares the cats, too.)
Get a large plastic owl (or hawk, if they have one) from the co-op. Small animals stay away in the presence of a predator. It has to be realistic looking, not cutesy
B.B. guns are cruel as they can blind animals. I have 2 cats and I live in an apartment on the bottom floor. I have a patio that I like for my cats to sun themselves. What I did was put bird netting across the open area and it keeps them in and that way no one is disturbed. Now if the dog owners would pick up after their dogs, we would all be happy.
