Foam letter residue stuck to wall, how do I remove it?
The residue is left on the wall, and I don't know how to get it off.
Saturate the foam with Goo Gone, let it sit for a while, scrape it off with something plastic. wet some paper towels with Goo Gone and wipe off the residue. Wash with a mixture of one cup of vinegar, one gallon of warm water, and a few squirts of Dawn dish liquid.
Try rubbing goo-gone on the rubber leaving on long enough to soften, then use a rubber scraper.
You can try denatured alcohol available at the hardware store. Just make sure you don't let it set on there for an extended period of time.
You risk damaging the hardwood floors & their finish by using chemicals...SO, use mayonnaise...it won't damage the floor & the oil in it will release the rubber backing. you may have to work at it with a rubber spatula...but it's better than risking scraping up your floor. Any time you have something sticky to remove from a floor, use mayonnaise or peanut butter oil.
