I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle. It works great for inside. I have a hummingbird feeder that attracts ants. Coat the top or hanger with Vaseline, the ants will not cross over it.

We occasionally find a big black ant in our house. We can't find where they come in, but I do see them on the driveway by our kitchen door. We have dogs and need something to deter them from this area. I know I have heard of a spice that they won't cross, but I can't remember what they are. Can anyone help me remember?
