Make a mixture of baking soda mixed with white vinegar and apply to the old grease.Leave on overnight. This should loosen the grease enough to be able to use a regular cleaner.

Engine degreaser. I've used it for years on my stove/sinks/showers. Purchase it in the automotive department at any retail store.
