What are the best trees for clay like soil, with full sun for 75% of the day.

      Oops, that would make a difference. British Columbia, right now it gets to 0 degrees Celsius at night and 10-20 degrees in the day.

    True that it might be helpful to know a location, but magnolias and hollies are two trees that do well even in clay soils.

    Believe of not a crepe myrtle (not butchered) should do well also.

    Most southern trees do well in clay. Magnolias, crepe myrtles, dogwood, and oak

    We have dogwoods, mock cherry, mock pear and magnolia. Will be planting cedar trees this year. We live in north Carolina so clay is what we have. If you use cypress though you will need to water a lot and spray for pests
